a), I bought some roller skates because I wanted to get back into shape. I've been rather lazy and inactive and needed to do some exercise. What's more, I've seen other people in the local park, young and old skating. So I was quite envious, envious of their freedom and their energy. I guess I b) their skates. I think c) I just wanted to be cool and hip like them. So I got down to the shops, and I browsed a few different sports shops. as you do, trying to educate yourself.    I reckon they might want to see and try out the actual product before buying it. Some products don’t really lend themselves to being bought online. You know, such things as clothes or shoes, I think you really need to try these on before buying.
2. Why do people buy things that they don’t need?    
   I guess, we are all victims of a consumer society. We’re surrounded by marketing that urges us to buy new things all the time. I've just bought a new mobile phone, not because my old one is broken or lost, but just to get some new features that really caught my eye. I don’t really need it, but it seems the norm nowadays to buy, buy, buy.
